Things to do in Portland, OR

I live in Portland, OR what should I do for fun? Here’s a what to do guide

I'm not from Portland...what can I do for fun

I hear it all the time. I'm not from Portland and I don't know what to do for fun. Hiking? But why? Beer? Yuck! The truth of the matter is that all of those things are the catalyst of being a true Oregonian and yea you should try them. I hated hiking prior to moving here and now it's something I look forward to. I like to think of hiking as God's way of showing me just how big he is and it's become more of a spiritual experience for me these days. I've taken it upon myself to help out any new PDX transplants or people who are just not with the Oregonian activities to encourage you to try something new. See the below list of top 10 things to try in Portland.

Saddle Mountain hike

1. Hike! Yes get out of that comfort zone, get active and get your life together. Go to Multnomah falls if it's open and not closed because some snotty nose kid threw fire crackers during dry season and caught the whole damn Gorge on fire (SMH)--> Yea that's right get out of your comfort zone and try hiking

2. Ride a bike - there are many bike trails in Oregon one of my favs is banks and Vernonia

3. Take snowboarding lessons at Mt. Hood. If you don't have a car that you trust to carry you through snow during the winter season you can always catch the bus to Mt. Hood

4. White water rafting - I've been white water rafting a few times now and I always have a blast. White salmon river has a few rafting companies that you can check out!

7. Eat! Food truck fun!

8. Go to Cathedral Park and have a picnic

9. Eat at Mother's Bistro...Yea I know very specific because this is my favorite brunch spot. I am not ashamed to say that most of the staff knows me and yea...No judgement zone right
