I was excited to sit with Charlisa and talk about how she got started and why she is so passionate about doing hair.
The Journey
Charlisa fell in love with doing hair through watching her mom do hair growing up.The journey to owning her own hair salon wasn't easy but that never stopped her from following her heart. She told me about the many jobs she occupied prior to owning her own hair salon. The last straw was when she returned back to work as a hairdresser at an independent salon post giving birth and was unable to return despite previous agreements. Charlisa decided she had enough and wanted to start her own salon. She only had $700 to her name and used it to reserve a space for doing hair. "The salon was about the size of a small bathroom."
